Hello

My name is Ryan Newman, and I am a sound engineer and producer located in Harrisonburg, Virginia. I have a passion for capturing the raw emotion that makes live music unforgettable! As a graduate of Full Sail University in Audio Production, I combine technical precision and creative intuition with adequate skills and desire to bring performances to life.

At Harrisonburg’s Court Square Theater, I record and produce The Living Room Series for WNRN, Central Virginia’s independent music network. Hosted by Trent Wagner, the series creates an intimate space for artists like Nat Myers, Anna Tivel, and Leon Majcen to connect with audiences. I also work on the theater’s Bluegrass Series, featuring acts such as Blue Highway and Ironwood Drive — projects that celebrate the region’s deep musical roots. In film, I served as the Chief Audio Engineer for the independent film A Rabbit's Son, utilizing creative recording and editing techniques to bring the film's sound to life.

Outside the studio, you’ll often find me at local house shows, surrounded by the sound and spirit of the community that inspires me. Whether I’m producing or shaping sound design, my goal is always the same: to preserve the feeling of a fleeting moment — something real, human, and alive.
